New LED Lighting!

We just got some new LED up lighting. What does that mean you say? It means we can provide uplighting and ambiance lighting that can be much more versatile. Colors can be changed within seconds, and our ambiance lighting can even be sound activated (change to the beat of the music). You can also have alot more light without having to worry about using much electricity. This is alos our way of going GREEN! Here are a few pics of some of the lighting, we were messing around in our front room with them.

Kudos to Rachelle

So I am a little behind but I wanted to give Kudos to Rachelle with Rachelle Photography and her winning both Sacramento Bride and Groom magazine covers. I don’t believe that this has ever happened, one photographer winning both in a row. Yeah Rachelle!!! Here are the amazing covers:

Calender Shoot for AFWPI

So we were voted to be in the couples calender for our wedding association we are a part of, Associations for Wedding Professionals Int.. It was a lot of fun. We had Jackie with Jacqueline Photography take our pictures. She was so fun to work with. We did one shoot with the kids at her office and then one at Granite Bay Golf Course, Heidi was nice enough to let us pop in for some pictures. Check out Jackie’s website she is awesome. Enjoy!

Eric and Danelle

I loved this couple, the sweetest couple ever. I say that about everyone and then I say that I say this about everyone but they were. We did their wedding Jan. 3, 2009, our first wedding of the year and what a great way to kick the year off. They got married at a church in Auburn and had their reception at the Rocklin Sunset Center. It is actually a really nice venue, it is like a blank canvas for you to make your own. We did some basic uplighting and it looked really nice. They had a cute videographer there, he was so happy the whole time. We have worked with him before and hope to get some video from him. His name is Silas Barker. I didn’t grab the name of their photog but I will try to get it. The caterer was amazing, they were family friends that own a catering company. It was so good, even though things ran a little late the food was still delicious. They usually do huge events so this was nothing for them but we all very much enjoyed it. When I get more info I will add it. Here were their songs and a few lighting pics:

DIY Flowers

So I wanted to mention this new DVD set that came out recently. The creation, demonstration and production was all done by Angie Zimmerman; the Wedding Flower Diva. It is an awesome video with so much information. This is for the bride that wants to do her own flowers or for anyone who wants to get into doing wedding flowers. Some people would just like to learn it and have the skill so they can help friends out. I like to have it under my belt as another thing I can do just in case I need to use it. I am so excited for her, she actually is a friend and we have worked together. She is amazing and so dedicated. Here is her new site: Do it yourself wedding flower guide. Be sure to mention we sent you over to her. Also if you don’t want to do your own flowers she is an amazing florist, her company is Heavenly Events which is located in El Dorado Hills.

Sum up of December 2008

So this month was a lot of corporate events and school dances. Too many to blog about and not a lot to say but we had a full fun month! We had lots of games for our events and lots of Christmas music.

We did get to do an event that was a lot of fun at the Sacramento Grand Ballroom. We worked with the wonderful Rachelle with Rachelle Photography and Alison Ulshoffer with Alison Ulshoffer Events and Design put on the event. She is so cute. I didn’t get to make it to the event but Brandon did. It was the West Sacramento Holiday Wine Party which was a benefit to support Westmore Oaks Elementary School. 100% of the proceeds went to school programs and towards their “Anti-bullying” cause. We were excited to be a part of it and hope to work with Alison more often.

Last but not least we rang in the New Year with Our Lady of Lourdes Parish School. It was a fundraiser for the school. All the parents, staff, members of the community and church were invited. The turn out wasn’t what they hoped but the group that was there had a blast. Me and the boys stayed home and cleaned and rang in the New Year with Hannah Montana and Wizards of Waverly Place. We had a quite night but we enjoyed ourselves.

Sean and Michelle

November 29 was a cold day but turned out beautiful! This lovely couple Sean and Michelle were soooo sweet. He was a Firefighter and she was in the Air Force and all their family was in or retired Police Officers, Firefighters or Military. They got married at the beautiful Apple Mountain Golf Resort in Apple Hill. The wedding was outside which you would think could be scary for November but it was really nice. Then they had dinner inside with dancing outside (they had portable heaters so it wasn’t too cold). Sean was really funny and he is so in love with Michelle, you could tell by the way he looked at her. Their photographer was Greg with That Shot’s Hot photography. He was fun to work with, here are a few of his pics. They were so fun… Here were their song selections:

Josh and Natalie

October 25 we were at the Old Sugar Mill in Clarksburg with Josh and Natalie. I want to start off by saying how wonderful the Old Sugar Mill is and how much we love Donna! That venue is so unique and beautiful. It does take an experienced DJ to work there I will say that but we love it there. Now about our adorable bride and groom. I really enjoyed working with them they were so fun and unique too. They had trouble picking songs but the songs they did pick really fit them and their personalities. We also worked with Blue Frog Photography. Jill is so cute and fun to work with. She works fast and I can’t wait to see their pics. Their caterer was Griselda’s Catering, she insisted on eating which I usually don’t do but it was sooo good and there was plenty. They are located in the State Capitol Building downtown, you should check them out.  Here were their songs, oh I was just so excited to hear their selections:

Patrick and Sarah

We did this couples wedding November, they got married at the beautiful Delta King Hotel. We love going there, Jenny is so wonderful. Anyways, we booked them just three weeks out from their wedding. They were having trouble with their DJ and needed a new one. We always hate to hear stories like that and unfortunately we hear them too often. Hiring a DJ shouldn’t be scary, it should be fun and exciting. It’s the time that you get to plan out all the fun details about the events of the night! It’s where you get to customize that night to the two of you! Anyways back to the wedding. We had the Ceremony and Reception inside. Family did flowers and photography. Their guests were fun and they were so great together. Here were their song choices:

Processionals: They provided their own, it was used at one of his family’s weddings

Bridal Processional: Bridal Chorus

Recessional: CD Provided
