Aaron and Cerrina

Uplighting at Wedding

Uplighting at Lake Natoma Inn

Aaron and Cerrina’s wedding was April 25. This wedding I don’t think could have been better. We had awesome vendors and she had a vision… She knew what she wanted which was great. We were able to talk about what she was envisioning and pull it off. They were married at First Covenant Church in Rancho Cordova and had their Reception at Lake Natoma Inn in Folsom. It is always nice to work there, the staff is awesome and always on the ball. Erin had her hands full too but was so calm and helping make sure everything was in order for all the weddings that day. Joan with Beautiful by Nature did our flowers and wow were they gorgeous. Also Rachelle with Rachelle Photography was their taking some awesome pictures. I can’t say enough about how awesome I think she is and how amazing she is at what she does. She also got some cool pics of our lighting and some lovely ones of Aaron, Cerrina and their kids Markus and Cianna. The guests at their wedding were so in tuned and ready for each event, it was amazing to watch them so intrigued.

Featured Caterer of the Month – Magpie Caterer’s (and Cafe)

Sacramento Caterer's, Magpie Catering

I wanted to feature Janel and Ed of Magpie Catering this month because not only are the fabulous but because they just opened their Market Place and Cafe. We are so excited to be able to have their food whenever we want instead of just events we work together. Brandon and I went to their Grand Opening and everyone there was so excited for them. They build relationships with all their clients, they are so easy to get along with too. It is so cute and peaceful there. They have a wonderful menu that is always changing, you can see it on their website to check out what’s new today.

Magpie Caterers is continually looking for ways to make exciting cuisine both more sustainable and accessible. We use a mix of organic, seasonal and locally grown produce to create menus that reflect the cultural and culinary fabric of northern California. Magpie Caterers uses meats and poultry that are raised without hormones or antibiotics.”

They also offer a variety of cheeses, meats and other items you can buy there. We recommend stopping in and getting anything, you will love it! Also if you are looking for someone for your wedding or any event, they are the best! We love them!

Eddie and Lindsey

We were so honored to be called by Lindsey’s dad Mike to do his daughters wedding April 18. They live in Solvang, Ca (by Santa Barbara) and had their wedding there. We were happy to travel there to be a part of their wedding. It was cool that out of all the people he called in the surrounding areas he chose us all the way up in Sacramento. We think this wedding was almost perfect!

We did things a lot different than we usually do but we pulled it off! The schedule was really different but we think it flowed great. They had 250 or so guests in their backyard. They had a huge tent with 25 tables. They also had a lounge area with a smaller tent with wicker furniture and the bar which was great for the guests to relax and get away. The food was in stations which helped with the flow of the lines, people just went to the stations they wanted. Their cake was so beautiful and all the lighting. Her dad hired a lighting company to do all the lighting and no detail was over looked. Their backyard was an “L” shape. The Ceremony was along the side and the reception and lounge area was on the bottom.

We met them Friday and had the rehearsal that night as well. We hit it off right away, their family is amazing. The Wedding was Saturday and it was a long day but was AWESOME! Eddie and Lindsey had amazing guests and family and almost everyone stayed to the end. We are so glad we were able to be a part of it all! We also made it a family trip and brought the kids and my sister to watch them while we worked. Here’s a few pics and their songs:

They did these themselves

They also did these centerpieces by themselves. They bought the flowers and had a florist show them how to do it, we got to help too. If you are looking to do some yourself these are awesome flowers to do, so easy to work with. Also something cool we did was they had all their couples at the wedding in a basket and every time they had to kiss (from the clinking on the glasses) then we pulled a name out and they got to kiss too. It was a fun way to get the guests involved and for the older ones to show them how it’s done 🙂

ADJA with Peter Merry

The Best Wedding Reception Ever Book

April 8th, we had an ADJA meeting at the beautiful Arden Hills. We were honored to hear the awesome Peter Merry with Merry Weddings do a Seminar for us. We firs met him in Las Vegas and him and his wife Lisa are amazing. I don’t know how they do all that they do. I want to post about him to plug his book, The Best Wedding Reception Ever… It is an amazing book. It has all kinds of ideas for all parts of your wedding from the Ceremony, to the Cocktail Hour to the Grand exit. We have learned so much from it and use it to help us customize our brides and grooms weddings to help make it more personable and unique. If you haven’t gotten the book be sure to do so, it is so much fun. They have everything from simple to extreme! (Do be sure your DJ will be able to do the customization and has the experience for it!)

Ian and April

I love them! We did Ian and April’s Wedding March 21. They were married at the LDS temple in Folsom, Ca and had their Reception at Lincoln Hills Golf Club in Lincoln, Ca. It was so beautiful. I loved their colors and their centerpieces, it was a first for me. Her dad is Jim Tenney with Chocolate Fountains of Sacramento. he did some amazing things with his fountains at her wedding. They had milk chocolate, white chocolate, caramel, cheese and bar b q sauce. They had all kinds of things to dip in the variety of fountains, it was amazing. Picture Perfect Photo Booths were there too running a photo booth which is always fun. They had props, hats and all kinds of other things to wear as you take pictures. We did lighting which added to the ambiance she wanted. I loved everything about, it was a huge wedding but things flowed so well. We also did a photo montage for them which was nice to have looping throughout the night. Here was their songs and pictures:

Reinhard and Kristen

I know, I know I have been slacking but here is a whole bunch of posts. I am playing catch up on the last few months. We have been so busy with getting ready for our busy time that I haven’t took the time to Blog. So much has been going on….

Ok I first am going to start with Reinhard and Kristen’s Wedding. They were married March 14. What an amazing wedding. To give you a little background about our bride and groom, he is from Austria and she is from Sacramento. They met in Austria while she was playing Softball for college and he was playing baseball. He was a catcher and she was a pitcher, it was like a match made in heaven. The theme was baseball oriented, the tables were named after baseball teams and their intro was to The Hey Song/Baseball Theme song. Everything was so beautiful. We did lighting which added so much and made it more intimate and also pulled in their wedding colors.

Kristen and Reinhard were married at a church and had their Reception at the Vizcaya Pavilion and Mansion. It’s like we have been there all month! Their photograpers were the wonderful Chuck and Mackenzie Roberts of Chuck Roberts Photgraphy. They are so great to work with and so fun. I am excited to see their pictures. Their Videograhpers were Cael and Diana with Reel to Reel Productions. We have worked with them before a long time ago but forgot how sweet they were. We are exicted to see their work as well. Here’s their song choices:

Bridesmaids Intro song: RESPECT by Aretha Franklin

Bride and Groom Intro song: Baseball Theme Song/Hey song
