Let Them Eat Cake – Marie Antoinette Theme at Antiquite Maison Privee

Let Them Eat Cake event at Antiquite Maison Privee

WOW! The cakes were AMAZING! The “Let Them Eat Cake” event was for brides to be to have a relaxed environment while they got to eat cake and yummy other desserts from some of the top Bakeries/Bakers in Sacramento. Kristina Smith with Wish Bridal put on this event and it was the first of it’s kind. We provided DJ, Emcee and ambience lighting for this event and what a beautiful and perfect venue for it! Antiquite Maison Privee is a newer location but so beautiful, rustic and artistic. We had eight Wedding Cake decorators decorate some amazing cakes with our Marie Antoinette theme. They also had the opportunity to have a table to show off other work they do so we had LOT and LOTS of sweets!! The fabulous and of course one of our favs Mimi & Company provided all the linens, they are crazy! Here is a highlight video from Jeff Sharpe of Sharpe Photographers, you get to see a little about how GORGEOUS it all looked and DELICIOUS. Thanks Jeff:

All so unique and lots of fun. Here are some pics of each cake. They had all our “brides to be” be the judges to vote on Best Table Presentation, Best Tasting and Best Decor.

I know lots of pictures but thank you Diana Miller with Diana Miller Photography for taking (almost) all these pics so we can show off this amazing talent! I was told this was with her camera phone too, WOW is she good or what. :0) We were excited to be apart of this event and for all the talented vendors and friends we have. We just love them all. A few more shout outs to others who were a part of making this happen: Shelley Larkin with Pizzazz Event Planning, the adorable Audrey with Botanica Floral Design did all the stunning flowers, Carmen Salazar-Burke with Carmen Salazar Photography, can’t wait to see her pics, Calligraphy Girl did the custom name tags, Invitation ink, Vintage Carriage Co. showcased their Cinderella Carriage and last but definitely not least Chocolate Fountains Delite for the yummy chocolate fountain. Whew… it takes a lot to put the these events so I want to make sure we recognize all these hard working vendors. Thanks Kristina again for letting us be a part of your event, be sure to check out Wish Bridal often to see upcoming events, make a consultation for your wedding dress and to become a VIB (Very Important Bride) Bride!

WHAT AN EVENT!!!! Most don’t realize how close the wedding industry is with each other and how much we work together. Besides the weddings we work together we also have the different associations we are a part of, groups, etc. We actually get the chance to work with other DJ’s often. Kami had the amazing opportunity to Emcee the 10th Annual AfWPi Recognition Gala! The event was a lot of fun. She doesn’t typically Emcee events but actually enjoys it a lot but wants to stick to fashion shows, award shows, etc. Not really weddings, she will leave that to Brandon. 🙂 She had the talented and very sweet Mike Reagan with Mr. DJ Service as the DJ for the evening. He played an awesome variety of music and was so easy to work with. He was right on with everything. Thanks Mike, it was a pleasure.

Now to the decor. Most dream of having everything for their weddings but some budgets are limited. With these events, we have so many wonderful vendors pitching in to help you can’t expect anything but AMAZING! That WOW factor for sure! At the bottom of this post I will list everyone I can remember but here are a few I want to give a shout out to: Darcie with A Dazzling Day by Darcie and Slip of Elegance Chair Covers did a wonderful job as Chair of this committee. We also had beautiful Centerpieces on the array of tables by Shannon with Flourish Designs and Cathy with Visual Impact Designs. Two of our favorites for sure!! These pictures were provided by Jodi with Jodi Yorston Photography and Jeff with Sharpe Photographers. Both very talented photographers. We also got to work with Mike Anderson with Creative Memories Entertainment. He did all the fabulous lighting for this event. It really transformed the already beautiful room. It was just a really great event. Enjoy the pictures:

We were so lucky and blessed to have won 3 awards! We were a part of the team that won 3rd place for the mixer of the year at the Vizcaya Pavilion and Mansion. You can see pictures from this event here. It was a St. Patrick’s Day theme and the Vizcaya rocked the house! All involved won an award. (Little info about the mixers: We have monthly mixers a Venue hosts and other vendors provide other services i.e. DJ, Florist, Linens, Photographer, Videographer, etc. We also have featured businesses for everyone to meet each month to find whos’ new in the industry and what they offer) Congrats Vizcaya!

We also won one of the two Distinguished Service awards. We were so honored to have been recognized. “This award is presented to a company that goes above and beyond what is expected when it provides services for afwpi events.” It was so exciting.

Last but definitely not least Kami won Volunteer of the year award. She was so ecstatic! She was in shock, all she does is helps whenever she can. Brandon is a huge support in that. It was very exciting to be a part of this event and to have been honored with these awards.

Steven and Lisedt’s “Romantic” Arden Hills Wedding

Very funny couple. Very simple but knew what they wanted. Lisedt was so fun to plan with, she pretty much said whatever Steven wants. 🙂 They were married at a church and then had their Reception at Arden Hills Resort Club and Spa. Even though it was basic in the entertainment, they did quite a bit with decor. The flowers were very beautiful, provided by the fabulous Vicky with Bella Bloom. We ALWAYS love her work. We also provided lighting which can be a challenge in the East Terrace room at Arden Hills but we were up for it! The room had 2 walls of windows, they wanted the wall with windows behind the head table but we pulled the blinds down the other wall so we could uplight it. We used some different lights than we usually do for a different effect. You will see these are wider spread than the rest on our lighting page and are softer. We used a amber for a candle lit feel and a soft rose for a splash of color. We also did a custom Monogram that matched their Invitations. Here’s our pics:

Ok enough about us and what we did. 🙂 Some vendors we worked with was Alicia at Arden Hills, we love Alicia! She is so sweet and great to work with. We also had the pleasure to work with Meagan from Christopher Kight Photographers. She is always fun to work with. It’s nice to have vendors that know each other and how things work. Things just go so much smoother. Here are some pictures of the beautiful flowers and Steven and Lisedt by the wonderful Meagan:

Steven and Lisedt kept it simple like I said but here were their song choices. They even chose songs to dedicate to each other later in the evening, it was sweet:

Cake Cutting Song: Sugar- Flo Rida ft. Wynter Gordon

First Dance: Two Is Better Than One by Boys Like Girls and Taylor Swift

Bouquet Toss: Single Ladies by Beyonce

Garter Toss: Mission Impossible Theme

Dedications: Hey Stephen by Taylor Swift (From Lisedt to Steven and I Do (Cherish you) by Mark Willis (From Steven to Lisedt)

Last Dance: Lucky (Suerte in Spanish) by Jason Mraz
