If smiles and laughs were contagious… Aaron and Jamie were AWESOME! Every time we met with them we would just laugh, they are hilarious and were so fun to work with! Aaron and Jamie live in SoCal so would come up every so often for planning meetings and meeting with other vendors. We looked forward to every meeting.

Jamie’s dad is a Wedding Photographer in Modesto of Prevost Photography. She saw the Grand Island Mansion from a wedding her dad photographed and knew she had to have her wedding there. So her expectations of a photographer were high. She interviewed a few photographers throughout CA and NV and found Justine Ungaro of Justine Ungaro Photography. She was an absolute pleasure to work with and she did a phenomenal job in capturing their wedding and personalities. The pictures in this post from her tell the story of them. Our favorites are all the smiling pictures!

Jamie was on the hunt for a blue velvet cake and couldn’t find anyone local that could (or would be willing) to do it. I referred her over to Sweet Cakes by Rebecca who was more than happy to accommodate. They are always surprising us with new things and talents, they can do it all! Last on her list was a Wedding Coordinator for the minor details and running of the Ceremony at their church. They brought in the wonderfully talented Kendra of Pfeiffer Event Planning and the Venue Vixens. She is always awesome to work with, she pulled it all together. Be sure to check out the Venue Vixens when searching for a Venue, it’s a wealth of information!  Thanks Aaron and Jamie for letting us share in your special day!

Wedding at Grand Island Mansion

We loved this wedding! Max and Angela were married May 28 at the beautiful Grand Island Mansion. They had Thais with Love at First Click Photography. She was so fun to work with and we are excited to see her pictures. This is a unique Venue, very old and full of history. It was built in 1917 and has an Italian Renaissance style villa. It is the largest privately owned estate in Northern,Ca. They have recently undergone extensive restoration and makes it the premier facility for weddings, receptions, corporate retreats, business conferences and private events. Immediate plans for the future include full spa services in the elegant style of a bygone era.

Now back to our wonderful bride and groom. We just did the reception and we started with toasts. Dinner was upstairs and then the guests made their way downstairs for toasts. They had a candy table for the favors which is always fun, the kids enjoyed it very much! I added a couple of pictures of the Venue and some lighitng we did. Here is their song choices:

Intro Song: Colours by Donovan

First Dance: Can’t Take my Eyes off of you (Jersey Boy’s Sountrack)

Father/Daughter Dance: Father and Daughter by Paul Simon

Cake Cutting: Better Together by Jack Johnson

Garter Toss: Foxy Lady by Jimi Hendrix

Bouquet Toss: Clumsy by Fergie

Last Dance: Lucky by Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat
