When we first met with Hans and Susan we were excited to get to know them more. Both of them are so full of love for everyone and everything around them. They give back so much not because they have to but because they want to! That is such a rarity these days. They both spend time volunteering and have adopted many dogs to give good loving home to. Six if I remember correctly! Both Hans and Susan have unique talents which Hans shared with us on his wedding day with his special Martial Art performances along with his group. We got to enjoy their Lion Dance and individual dances as well. It really added a unique fun twist for the guests to enjoy. Hans and Susan are not ones to be in the spot light but on your wedding day this is difficult to avoid. So with the special performances it took some of the pressure off of them. Hans only performed for his lovely wife Susan because she enjoys watching him perform.

So many things to talk about their wedding so I will try my best to not go on and on. First off they were married is April at the quaint and adorable Flower Farm Inn in Loomis, CA. I love all the little details, their website describes them as “a rare combination of country charm and sophisticated elegance.” I couldn’t have said it better myself.

During the Ceremony they had some swordsmen a part of his group from Eastern Ways participate. It was such a dramatic entrance, all the guests enjoyed it. Also during the Reception these very talented and well disciplined performers performed a Lion Dance, it was so energetic and kicked off the Reception just right! We can thank the awesome Jenn Bartell with Jenn Bartell Photography and Design for all the awesome pictures in this post. Love her fun, funky and creative style. She fit their style to a T.

Lastly I wanted to make sure I mention their cake. Their ridiculously awesome, sentimental cake that the talented team at Sweet Cakes by Rebecca did for them. So with their 6 wonderful dogs that are their family that couldn’t be there, they had the cake designed to include their adorable family so they can share part in their day. These dogs are like their babies and they love them dearly. I just have a picture of the top of their cake before we packed it up at the end of the night with all the dogs put on top from my iPhone and a picture of their reaction when they saw it for the first time. So precious!

AfWPi Mixer “A Very Merry UnBirthday” at Winchester Country Club

Last Tuesday we had the opportunity to DJ, MC and provide ambience lighting service for a mixer for Associations for Wedding Professionals Int. (AfWPi) at Winchester Country Club in Meadow Vista. Darcie Carrier, the wedding Coordinator at Winchester in such a sweetheart! She works sooo hard and is one of the best for sure!! The theme: “A Very Merry UnBirthday” from Alice in Wonderland. We had a lot of fun with the lighting design. She wanted lots of colors! It was fun and unique, not something you may see at a wedding but LOTS of FUN! We also projected a mini slideshow of some pictures from the tea party from the “Alice in Wonderland” movie on the ceiling. Here’s some picture of the room thanks to Jeff Sharpe with Sharpe Photographers, thanks for bringing your camera Jeff. We are sure you never leave home without it.

We had few awesome featured vendors participating. We of course had the beautiful Winchester Country Club, Shelley with Pizzazz Event Planning (her table was so pretty), Liza with Golden Gourmet (for all of our yummy food) and the oh so DELICIOUS Rebecca with Sweet Cakes by Rebecca. We didn’t know Rebecca before the “Let Them Eat Cake Event” but she has been added to our preferred vendor list! We just love her. She had a beautiful table (which we are not surprised since she won Best Table Presentation at LTECE), brought a fabulous “UnBirthday” Cake for the centerpiece and TONS of mini cupcakes for our tea party table for us to enjoy. I LOVE SUGAR. Liza provided the food, she had 4 yummy stations FULL of food. The soup we drank out of mini tea cups which fit the theme perfectly. Why do we attend these mixers or participate? They give us so many advantages but one of the best ones is getting to know all our wedding professional friends. We get to network with the best of the best. We learn about all the different and unique things we all offer, we can refer QUALITY PROFESSIONALS and it helps us better ourselves and our companies for our clients! Let Them Eat Cake – Marie Antoinette Theme at Antiquite Maison Privee

WOW! The cakes were AMAZING! The “Let Them Eat Cake” event was for brides to be to have a relaxed environment while they got to eat cake and yummy other desserts from some of the top Bakeries/Bakers in Sacramento. Kristina Smith with Wish Bridal put on this event and it was the first of it’s kind. We provided DJ, Emcee and ambience lighting for this event and what a beautiful and perfect venue for it! Antiquite Maison Privee is a newer location but so beautiful, rustic and artistic. We had eight Wedding Cake decorators decorate some amazing cakes with our Marie Antoinette theme. They also had the opportunity to have a table to show off other work they do so we had LOT and LOTS of sweets!! The fabulous and of course one of our favs Mimi & Company provided all the linens, they are crazy! I know lots of pictures but thank you Diana Miller with Diana Miller Photography for taking (almost) all these pics so we can show off this amazing talent! I was told this was with her camera phone too, WOW is she good or what. :0) We were excited to be apart of this event and for all the talented vendors and friends we have. We just love them all. A few more shout outs to others who were a part of making this happen: Shelley Larkin with Pizzazz Event Planning, the adorable Audrey with Botanica Floral Design did all the stunning flowers, Carmen Salazar-Burke with Carmen Salazar Photography, can’t wait to see her pics, Calligraphy Girl did the custom name tags, Invitation ink, Vintage Carriage Co. showcased their Cinderella Carriage and last but definitely not least Chocolate Fountains Delite for the yummy chocolate fountain. Whew… it takes a lot to put the these events so I want to make sure we recognize all these hard working vendors.
